Our Story – Your Adventure

Our story starts some time ago as the founders of our company are locals, born in Ranua like most of our team members too. Some of us had lived elsewhere for years and returned home, as others had lived here all their lives. For us the love for our home village has been the main thing driving us to build our lives and future here, the small village in Arctic wilderness with limited jobs and study opportunities.

All our childhoods were obviously different, but something in common was growing up surrounded by Lapland nature and learning about wildlife and traditional way of life here from the early. All the memories from these moments in the woods and countryside left an imprint on our minds.

Another thing we have in common is that we have always seen the remote location and the untamed nature here as positive things, as an opportunity and reason to live here. We all have dreamed of finding our livelihood here and have a shared ambition to build something here that brings more good to the area, something that also brings possibility to live here for others thinking like us.

For us Ranua has offered life in the middle of pure nature, safety, privacy and room to breathe, just be, to create our own way of life. You can find all the necessities here and lots of possibilities for hobbies, especially for someone appreciating wilderness. For us, the forests, beautiful river and lake scenes, small paths, northern lights and arctic species are everyday life, but not boring in any means! They are the everyday miracles, something that still captivates us to stop and admire these amazing things around us.

From these things our story is born. We have had the opportunity to show these unique miracles and places for others, and that way make a living for us and our families. For us, this is the way to keep our home village alive, maintain the services here for us locals and our guests as well. The way to make sure that we and other residents are able to live here, using the resources and tools we have here already, in the Arctic nature.

We want to create something permanent, sustainable and unique. We want to combine nature adventures and luxury, offer the care-free vacation with comfort, privacy and peace. We want to make sure that the spectacular, pure nature here and the experiences remain to the future generations too.

Arctic Dreams House values are based on respecting the culture, nature, and environment of the area. We offer accommodation, activities, and experiences in a sustainable way.

• Informing and guiding our guests on respecting local nature and following the "nature-etiquette".
• Offering services through local partners and guiding guests to local food and products.
